According to recent estimates, about one
in three U.S.
adults has high blood pressure, but because there are no symptoms, nearly
one-third of these people don't know they have it. In fact, many people have
high blood pressure for years without knowing it. Uncontrolled high blood
pressure can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure.
This is why high blood pressure is often called the "silent killer."
High blood pressure symptoms are often acute
in human beings. They include sudden dizziness, flushed faces, nervousness,
severe headaches, restlessness, difficult breathing, nose bleeding, insomnia,
intestinal complaints, depression, short temper and emotional instability. The
diagnosis of high blood pressure is done when the normal pressure tends to
repeatedly rise. The other physical symptoms of high blood pressure includes
constant tendency to urinate, decrease in eye vision and muscle weakness.
There are many treatments for high blood
pressure. The most common form of treatment, which is highly effective for most
patients, is that of a drug regimen. Pharmacological intervention can reduce
blood pressure quickly and effectively, however it should be known that some
patients do not tolerate medications designed to treat high blood pressure
well, or would prefer to avoid prescription drugs when possible, and for these
people, acupuncture for high blood pressure may be one avenue to consider. It
is proved that acupuncture can effectively bring your blood pressure down to
the normal levels. Apart from curing your hypertension (HPN) problem, acupuncture
also promotes the healing of other problems related to your heart. With
acupuncture you can keep healthy for a longer life.
